It is hard to believe the
Holidays are already upon us. I say it every year
but this year seems to have gone by faster than any other that
I can remember. I first want to apologize for missing
the newsletter in October, but I am sure if you live in
Florida, you were without power as I was and therefore, you
wouldn’t have been reading online anyway.
As I reflect back on this
year, it certainly has been an eventful one. My four
year old started a new school and my one year old learned the
art of becoming a self contained tornado. My house has
undergone many improvements and I am approaching my 5 year
wedding anniversary! Don’t get me wrong, this year has
certainly had its challenges, however, one thing I believe
with every fiber in my body, is that with every closed door,
there are many others just waiting for you to open them.
One thing I look back on this year that has been most
meaningful is that I began truly progressing on my personal
journey to “wholeness”. As a woman, I have come to
realize, that we can try to be the best at everything, but it
is also ok to fail once in a while too. The more time I
spend with the women that I have met through WWS, the more I
realize, we are all be autiful goddesses that posses
amazing “stories”. As we peel off the makeup
and put on the sweats, underneath it all, we all have a
story. We need to embrace those stories as they are what
make us who we are, good, bad or indifferent. Many
of the wonderful things that have happened in my life were a
direct result of some adversity. We need to express our
thanks for the experiences that we all have in our lives
and of course, always continue the effort to personally grow
and learn from them. Our energy follows our
thoughts and during this Holiday season, I ask you to
embody only good thoughts about who you are. Begin
to manifest the woman you want to evolve into as the New
Year unfolds and last but not least, claim your success and
affirm it to yourself daily.
I went to a retreat a week
ago that was put on by our Jupiter chapter leader, Jana
Fleming. It was called "A Woman's Journey to Wholeness."
I resisted going as I felt I just had too many things on my
plate, but when don’t we have too many things going on?
I am so thankful I took those few days for me, as it has now
become an integral part of my whole “transformation”
journey. I have learned how to journal and chronicle the
daily nuggets of my life which has brought a whole new
spirituality and energy into me. |
I have seen many of you
touched and moved by the speakers we have provided to you thus
far and that more than anything is what WWS is all
about. It is about you. It is about growth
for all of us with the support of one another. During
this retreat I embarked on my first Yoga class given by our
Delray chapter leader Stacey Joiner, and that is why my column
is titled OM! I am finally learning to relax and
exhale. It is amazing that just by taking the time to
meditate and breathe, we can release so many of our
burdens. I suffered far too long with the hurried woman
syndrome and now I am learning to stop and smell the roses by
simply taking a few moments of quite time daily for me.
I encourage you to do the same!
Now allow me to bring you up
to date on WWS happenings. Over the last two months we
launched new chapters in NJ, Coral Springs, Ft Lauderdale,
Jupiter and Orlando, all with resounding success. We
have five more chapters slated to open in January. Our
mission is being well received by women across the country. We
are in the process of planning several retreats for the coming
year also! Our website will be undergoing several
changes over the next two months that will give you many
wonderful new options enabling you to learn from the best
while staying in touch with your fellow sisterhood both
locally and nationwide. Stay tuned!
I encourage you all to take a
few moments daily for you. The Women’s Wellness Society
has many great things planned for the upcoming year that will
assist you in continuing or beginning your personal
journey to “wholeness”. All you have to do
is make the commitment to YOU that you will always do your
best to continue to grow! I thank all of you for
your continued support and I hope to see you at our Holiday
Dinner Dance!
Blessings,
Kellie Kuecha

"Let’s Talk about Stress… Baby!
"
|
When you think about your
health and wellness strategies, do you think about your stress
levels?
When you go to a conventional
doctor, they are quick to check your blood pressure,
cholesterol levels, body fat, etc. Does the doctor talk to you
about what is going in your life? Do they evaluate and assess
your stress levels?
Without getting into all the
gory details, stress is one of the biggest causes of diseases,
conditions and imbalances in the body. Stress raises our
adrenaline levels, which throws our body balance way off,
which in turn weakens the immune system.
In our country, we just take
it for granted that stress is a part of our lives. Without
even addressing the stress we feel from the worlds events;
just think about the stress we create in our own lives. Our
culture promotes it. The faster you move, the more you get
done, the better off you will be???? Who thinks that is
good for our health? And, I want to know who came up with the
word “multitasking”, anyway?
Have you even taken a deep
breath today? Most women seem to take care of everyone else
and leave themselves for last.
Here a just a few things you
can do for yourself and they are all FREE!
“Just
Breathe!”
Take a deep breath, start by
puffing out your belly, continue inhaling into your chest
area, continue inhaling, raising your collarbone.
Exhale SLOWLY, observe the
collarbone lowering, ribcage softens; draw
the belly in toward the spine. Repeat,
3 times. |
“Turn yourself upside down.”
Take just 3 minutes and put
your legs up on a wall or up on the sofa. Allow your spine and
head to rest on the floor. Arms wide open, palms up toward the
sky. Close your eyes and deepen the breath. Bringing your head
down to the earth connect with earth’s energy.
“Spend some time with
nature.”
Take a walk outside! Go to
the beach – it’s that way we live here anyway? Spending
sometime in the company of the Sun’s & Moon’s energy also
gives us energy.
“Give thanks to
yourself.”
Take time to thank yourself
for all the wonderful things you do. Gratitude has one of the
highest vibrations, so be grateful.
All of these practices clear
your mind, calms the nerve system and gives you a different
prospective. “With a clear mind all things are
possible!”
Here is to your good
health!

It has been
twenty years since I moved from New Jersey to the paradise of
South Florida. I remember leaving those gray days behind, with
naked trees and exchanging that icy cold chill in my body for
the warmth of the sun and the intensity of deep green lushness
for as far I as my eyes could see. It was truly
heaven.
For years here
we experienced tropical storms and accepted them as natures
way of maintaining such a glorious paradise; however in the
past couple years, those showers have taken on a whole new
personality, rattling homes, tearing off roof tops, smashing
windows and collapsing old growth trees that graced our
properties. One can only assume that the ongoing damage to our
environment, has strengthened the forces and caused us to
definitely pay closer attention.
As the world is
experiencing such radical changes like Tsunamis, hurricanes,
tornados and earthquakes, it creates an environment where we
get back to helping one another, opening our hearts and
pocketbooks to strangers and valuing life and the lives of
others. Do you think all this is merely a wakeup
call?
We are here
together at The Women’s Wellness Society to support each other
in sickness and in health, during happy and sad times, and
growing stronger in friendships and relationships. I have
personally met more amazing women in the past five months than
I have in the past twenty years here in Florida. So for those
of you who are ready to roll up the carpets and pack it in and
leave, I understand your fears, however there is always a
price to pay for everything. It is my intention to add to our
agenda this year, education on environmental issues so that we
can spread our knowledge across the land and help people make
better choices that affect our world. Let’s hold hands in this
renaissance period to enlighten ourselves and those we touch
with the strength and foundation WE can create that no
hurricane can rock…
I wish you all
comfort in these trying times and peace in knowing that each
of us is a little square in the quilt that is warm and
snuggly..

Your Body Speaks
Volumes…Are You Listening?
The human body does not reason or judge; it
simply and magnificently responds in its own unique language
with its own innate wisdom to a symphony of stimuli that
bombard it every day.
Did you know that these (and other)
challenges are just some of the ways our body speaks to us,
letting us know there is something wrong, needed or
lacking:
· Physical Discomfort
· Inflammation
· Loss of Mobility
· Restlessness
· Hunger
· Emotional Challenges
· Immune System Issues
What Can You Do
Naturally?
Essential oils come from plants—and plants
are quite literally chemical factories. Essential oil
are the life force of the plant just as blood is for the human
body. These unique oils have many health-enhancing
properties. They are not ‘oily’ because they are not
fatty oils like olive or flax seed, but rather they are
composed of hundreds of constituents that have a combined
anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and immune
stimulating effect.
How Do Essential Oils
Work?
By utilizing the various methods of
delivery, a person can quite literally affect change in their
bodies within minutes—instead of weeks or months.
· Sense of Scent—Essential Oils affect
people first through their sense of smell with the information
being relayed to your hypothalamus.
· Sense of Touch—The molecular
structure of essential oils are rapidly absorbed through the
skin
· Ingestion—Certain essential oils may
be ingested to strengthen the immune system
· Inhalation—By diffusing essential
oils (with a cold air diffuser), you can disperse them via a
very fine mist.
